The
Adopt-A-Highway program offers several benefits to its communities. It provides a clean environment, gives civic pride to the community, serves as a Reminder not to litter and saves the tax-payers money.

Kentucky participates in the International Adopt-A-Highway Program since 1988.

We focus on 26,000 miles of State Primary, State Secondary, State Supplemental and Rural Secondary Roads, no interstates or parkways.

There are nearly 1,100 Adopt-A-Highway Groups in the state, focusing on 8,000 miles of road.

The groups do four yearly pick ups, three scheduled and one on their own, standard adoption is 2.0 miles with a 2 year contract. Groups include civic and community groups, business organizations and even families.
